Next weekend, the Mohican North Star Casino in Bowler, WI will run its first North Star Cup RC Racing Challenge with $6800 in prize money to be split across the off-road and dirt oval competitions. LiveRC will be organizing the event, with special guest announcers Ben Ellis and Matt Gosch calling the action on two separate tracks.

Both off-road and oval tracks will be built on the casino grounds, and a circus-style tent will be built over the oval track in order to protect the surface from weather. Entry fees are $20 for the first class, and $15 for each additional class, and the fee jumps to $40 if you sign up the day of the race.

Registration and open practice are scheduled for Friday night, with additional open practice Saturday and Sunday starting at 8 AM. Qualifying will run on Saturday starting at 11 AM and tentatively finishing around 6:30 PM, depending on turnout. Main events will begin on Sunday at 10 AM.

Cash payouts of $500 to win, $250 for 2nd, and $100 for third will be offered for the following classes:

Off-road:

  • 2WD Modified Buggy
  • 4WD Modified Buggy
  • 4WD Short Course
  • 17.5 2WD Short Course

Oval:

  • 13.5 Short Course Late Model
  • 13.5 Short Course Modified
  • 13.5 Sprint Car (rubber tire)
  • 17.5 Short Course Sportsman Truck

Additional classes that draw more than three entries will be added on Saturday, and the top three finishers will be given trophies.
