Yatabe Arena has published the following drawings of the track layouts to be used for the IFMAR Electric Off-Road World Championships that will run at the famous Japanese race place from October 3-10.
As is customary for the event, the track layout will change during the off-day between the 2WD and 4WD portions. Both courses will run clockwise, and from the look of the drawings the arrangement of the lane dividers will remain constant, with only a change in the track's features differentiating the two courses.
The back straightaway will end in the same decreasing radius right hander for both layouts, interrupted by a small single jump leading to a left hand switchback and a nearly 30-foot tabletop jump. A left-hand 180 immediately upon landing will lead to a medium-length double jump for 2WD, but a large step-up jump in 4WD. A small chicane after that ends in a single jump at the braking point before a tight right-hand turn, after which cars will pass by the penalty box in the front right corner of the track. Another tricky chicane follows, before a step-down jump that leads to a large single that will only be in place for the 2WD portion. The track then turns to the right, leading straight away from the drivers' stand with a double-single jump before immediately turning 180 degrees to the left and coming straight back toward the drivers' stand. In that section, the 2WD cars will be faced with a set of stutter bumps whereas the 4WD cars will face a large single jump at the braking point before a sweeping right hand turn broken up by stutter bumps. The left side of the track will remain the same for both classes, with a winding double S-turn ending in a single jump feeding onto the back straightaway.
