Adam Drake is best known for his off-road racing prowess that has earned him three ROAR National Championships and countless other race wins. This weekend, however, he'll be firing up an all-yellow, Novarossi-powered, World Cup-winning Mugen Seiki MGT7 and hitting the asphalt for the KO Grand Prix.
//
It's not the first time The Drake has competed on asphalt, though. While working for Team Losi, Adam competed at the Reedy Touring Car Race of Champions in the Open class several times - even earning a couple of podium finishes.
How many other drivers in this 2003 photo can you name?
Adam's smooth and calculated driving style have been key in many of his major victories, often on difficult tracks that emphasize finesse - and it's one of the biggest reasons why he was so spectacular behind the wheel of a 1/10-scale 2WD gas truck. That car control is just as necessary when carving corners and clipping dots, so don't be surprised if Adam finishes well this weekend.
//
He's not the only off-road racer that'll be competing this weekend, either.
