2016 Reedy Race Control Tire Announcement

The Reedy Race is pleased to announce that Pro-Line and JConcepts will continue to be the official tire and insert suppliers for the 22nd running of the Reedy International Off-Road Race of Champions.

With extensive testing from multiple vehicle manufacturers and with the assistance of representatives from the tire manufacturers, the control tires and inserts were selected to provide the participants with the best possible combination for each vehicle. The following will be the only combinations allowed at the event:

2WD Buggy
Front -- JConcepts Gold Dirt Webs (#3077-05) & Pro-Line Closed Cell Inserts (#6185-03)
Rear -- JConcepts Gold Dirt Webs (#3076-05) & Pro-Line 12 Rib Closed Cell Inserts (#5400-14)

4WD Buggy
Front -- Pro-Line MC Electron (#8240-17) & Pro-Line Closed Cell Inserts (#6185-02)
Rear -- Pro-Line MC Electron (#8238-17) & Pro-Line 12 Rib Closed Cell Inserts (#5400-14)

All the tires and foam are 2.2" size and may only be mounted on 2.2" wheels. A complete list of tire rules can be found at www.reedyrace.com/2016/offroad/tires.html.

2014 marked the first time a control additive was used at the Reedy Race and this will continue for 2016. A designated tire saucing area will be set up and all application of tire additive must be done at this location with the control tire sauce. The mild additive is low odor, low toxicity and has been tested against other popular additives at OCRC to ensure consistent performance.

Remember, included with each entry is one set of branded control tires and inserts. Additional tires and inserts may be purchased though OCRC Raceway beginning in mid-December. However, any tire used during a scored round at the Reedy Race must have a branding mark from the event which is only available for purchase during the event dates of January 21-24, 2016.
