Around 10:15 local time in Las Vegas, Spencer Rivkin finalized a new agreement with Maxima's U.S.-specific "Mx" brand. Immediately, Spencer and Team Associated team manager Brent Thielke bolted the new equipment into his RC8B3 and RC8T3. The move adds another impressive name to a driver lineup that already includes defending Silver State champ Jared Tebo and Dirt Nitro Challenge winner Ryan Cavalieri.
"It's official - like, as of right now," said Rivkin, who began talking to Mx team manager Joe Pillars briefly before the DNC. "I was impressed by how well Ryan and Jared have done with the engines and fuel. I think it's a really good opportunity for me." Rivkin first tested his new engines earlier this week in his home state of Arizona, but this weekend will be the first time he's logged laps with the Mx B2R engines and 30% fuel with an official race clock running.
"Everyone at Mx is excited to welcome Spencer to the team," said Pillars. "He'll be a great addition, joining Jared and Ryan, and we're looking forward to working with him this year leading up to the Worlds in October."
