New HPI Racing owner adds Design and Manufacture facilities to group of companies

Three months after it was announced that the HPI brand and the assets of HPI Europe had been acquired by Ripmax, we are pleased to announce HPI Racing Design LLC has opened for business in California, USA. 

This newly established product design and innovations company will build upon the assets and IP that have now been acquired from Hobby Products International Inc. Perhaps most significantly, the facility will be run by a team of key HPI USA staff with many years of experience within the brand. 

This move highlights Ripmax's commitment to maintaining HPI's world renowned high quality DNA that has been established over 30 years. 

Heading up HPI Racing Designs LLC, R&D manager Dave Potter said,  "It is an amazing time for HPI Racing and I am so excited about the future! I'm so thrilled to work with the same great team that understands what the essence of HPI Racing is about. We cannot wait to get more amazing new products to the market."

HPI Manufacturing

Ripmax have also completed a deal rescuing HPI's previous core supply and manufacturing channel in China. In the same way the other HPI operations have been acquired, Ripmax are establishing a new manufacturing plant within the HPI group of companies. With existing staff and sub-supplier base on-board in China to maintain the quality and continuity of HPI products.

Ripmax CEO Nick Moss said,  "As the global trading company for all HPI Racing product sales, securing HPI Europe's operations as a going concern was a definite first priority but this is just the beginning. Launching a design house that encompasses all that HPI stands for, plus a core, proprietary manufacturing centre have always been central to our plan. These developments represent great strides forward for the group of companies as we look towards a bright future for HPI Racing!"

Ripmax have been working with former owner Tatsuro Watanabe to acquire all elements of the HPI Racing business and with this now completed, Ripmax officially own 100% of the HPI Racing global brand, sales rights and intellectual property.
