Southern California electric off-road racer Cody Turner campaigned Team Associated vehicles for the last two years after ending a three-year relationship with Kyosho, drawing on support from sponsors Pro-Line Racing and Reedy for equipment. On Sunday, the former Novak Off-Road Race and Reedy Truck Race champion announced via Facebook that he had signed with HB Racing for the 2017 season, and his friend Zack Rogers posted a video of Turner's new D216 2WD buggy running at Rain Man's Hobby and Raceway in Bakersfield

[UPDATE: 11/3, 3:54 PM CT] - HB Racing team manager Gord Tessmann corrected the original story, which stated Turner had signed for the 2017 season. Tessmann said that Turner had run for HB Racing for the last half of 2016 but that no team decisions had been made for next year.

"Well - I know some of you know, but here it is if you don’t: I have signed for HB Racing. And I’m super excited to run their products. I will be running both nitro and electric - here’s a cool clip Zachary Rogers took of me running my new D216. It was working really good yesterday at Rain Man’s Hobbies up here in Bakersfield. I just want to give out a thanks to all my sponsors who are helping me out.”
