Dublin Model Car Club to host two-round Pink Tie Cup charity event

The Dublin Model Car Club will be running a two round Cup this Winter. We are opening this to all, both members and non-members.

We felt that its time the Club did something for someone else, and we have decided to give all proceeds for the two rounds to Aoibheanns Pink Tie.

This is a really worthy cause, so if you race 1/10th off-road you dont want to miss this! Even if you have a 1/10th buggy on the shelf, dust it off and get down to The Naul for the DMCC Pink Tie Cup

About the Charity

Aoibheann’s Pink Tie “National Children’s Cancer Charity” was set up in 2010 by Mick Rochford and Jimmy Norman after the tragic loss of Jimmy’s daughter Aoibheann to cancer aged just 8 years. During Aoibheann’s yearlong battle with this dreadful disease, the family found little or no financial or practical support for children and their families.

Jimmy and his family had a large support network of friends and family but found that many on the ward had virtually no support at all.

When Aoibheann passed away the men wore pink ties at the funeral which was Aoibheann’s favourite colour. The charity was formed in her memory to remedy the lack of support for other children and their families going through treatment.

About the DMCC Pink Tie Cup

Apart from helping a very worthwhile charity, we fully intend on having some serious racing!!

Two rounds, both count.... your chance to prove you`re the best!

This cup will be open to ALL. Members and Non-Members alike. Round 1 will be on November 20th, and Round 2 on February 26th.

Points for both rounds will count towards your overall score. The format for each round will follow Nationals rules, with 3 rounds of Qual and a 3 Leg Final. Scoring, ties etc will be dealt with according to Nationals Rules.

The entry fee will be €10 for one class and €15 for two for each round. Both Clubman and Modified classes will be run as usual.

We are happy to take pre-entry for anyone who would like to get their name in before the event, just email us at dublinmodelcarclub@gmail.com, and tell us what class you would like to race in.
