SDRC Raceway announces the 3rd Annual Top Gun Shootout

 

SDRC Raceway formally announces its third annual Top Gun Shootout, the largest competition for radio controlled off-road racers in the San Diego area, to be held June 28-29. This year’s Top Gun Shootout will benefit Be the Match – National Marrow Donor Program and Donate Life California. The race will be held at SDRC’s indoor facility at 8725 Production Ave. – just a few blocks down Miramar Road from the scene of Tom Cruise’s 1986 action movie.

Racers from all over the Southwestern U.S. and further are invited to compete over two days on a tacky indoor clay surface molded into a technical off-road course sure to challenge racers of all ability levels. Entrants will be treated to discounts at a growing list of local businesses involved with the Top Gun Shootout, including the Best Western Plus host hotel, and the podium finishers in the three classes with the largest entry counts will also be awarded prize money after dicing their way through a grueling double A-Main format.

“It’s incredible how much the race grew in just the first two years,” said SDRC Raceway owner Scott Bergen. “Not only is it a great chance to treat our dedicated local following to such a high-caliber event, with national and world champions in attendance, but this year we’re helping to raise awareness for two incredible organizations. What better way to spend a sunny summer weekend than racing for a great cause in America’s Finest City?”
