For the seventeenth time, the fastest electric off-road racers in the U.S. will head north of Los Angeles and resist the temptation of the Six Flags: Magic Mountain roller coasters before heading to Hot Rod Hobbies for the Off-Road Shootout - which has been shortened to two days for the first time. Having earned the nickname "the Sweatout" with previous years roasting the pit area with 110+ degree weather, entrants this weekend will be delighted by the forecasted daily highs in the mid-80s. With defending 2WD Modified Buggy winner Ryan Maifield skipping the event, the door is wide open for another driver to join a star-studded list of champions that includes Steven Hartson, Dustin Evans, Ryan Cavalieri, Jared Tebo, Travis Amezcua, Mike Truhe, and more.
Ryan Cavalieri (right) is a multi-time former winner of the race, but all eyes will be on AE's heir-apparent Spencer Rivkin (left) to fill Maifield's vacancy on the team - and atop the podium. Rivkin was in all three B-Mains last year; where will he end up this year?
