In an unprecedented move (well, other than at least a half dozen other drivers who've previously created pages), Wisconsin native and Team Associated driver Chad Due started a "Fan" page on Facebook and began inviting connections on the popular social media site to "Like" him as he pledged to share updates from upcoming races. During the registration process, Due modestly chose the category "Public Figure" in which to allow Facebook to index his page rather than "Athlete" or "Sports Team."

The news broke last night when the 2WD Open class champion at the 2011 Reedy International Off-Road Race of Championships, best known for his long-term relationship with famed race promoter Scott Ernst's daughter Sarah, allegedly clicked "Create" after finalizing his 434-word biography written entirely in the third person.

During the process of uploading 16 different photos in which only three pictures included any glimpse of Due himself (though one does prominently feature Reedy Race trophy girl Mercedes Terrell), the social butterfly reportedly switched his "cover" photo after less than three hours of his page being published.

Other pictures include body-off snaps of his 1/10-scale electric off-road vehicles as well as a photo of five freshly painted Lexan shells with the caption, "Bodies finished up for the Nationals. Really glad thats done" - no word yet if the bodies had been trimmed out.

More information can be found by visiting www.facebook.com/ChadDueRC; there's been no word as to whether Due had intended his URL to be a homonymic pun. As of press time, the page had reached 267 Likes.
