Orion's 2015 team listing suggests engine swap for Tebo - and Cavalieri

Months of speculation about an engine change for Jared Tebo reached a crescendo this week when the former national and world champion posted a photo to Facebook of his 2015 MP9 TKI3 body. The beautifully painted shell, which shows a return to Tebo's original colors, features large "Mx" stickers on the sidepods and only a smaller Team Orion sticker under the windshield. Both the decals as well as the caption hashtags suggested a switch to Maxima-branded O.S. engines. Needless to say, people noticed immediately.

Today, Team Orion announced their team of national and world champion drivers for the 2015 season, a truly formidable lineup that ranks among the best in history. The announcement, however, points out two developments as both Jared Tebo and Ryan Cavalieri are listed as "Electric" only - whereas 2015 ROAR 1:8 Truck National Champion Dakotah Phend and 1:8 Buggy Runner-Up Ryan Maifield are listed as "Electric & Nitro." Jilles Groskamp and Jörn Neumann, both confirmed with Maxima for 2015, are listed for "Electric," but while this may add fuel to the fire about where Tebo is headed it raises big questions about Cavalieri - 2014 Worlds Runner-Up and one of only three multi-time ROAR National Champions in the class.

Ryan has re-signed with Team Orion and will continue to use Team Orion's 1/10 & 1/8 Electric Products. Maifield will now also take full advantage of Team Orion's CRF Engines.

David Ronnefalk - Electric & Nitro

Interesting Fact: In 2014, David started off the year in style by winning the 1/8 E Buggy Title at The Dirt Nitro Challenge. Then David went onto win the 1/8 Nitro Buggy European Championship for the 2nd straight year! David has re-signed with Team Orion and will use all Team Orion's 1/10 & 1/8 Electric Products, along with Team Orion's CRF Engines.

Reno Savoya - Electric & Nitro

Interesting Fact: Three-time European Champion Renaud Savoya finished an impressive 2nd overall at the 2014 1/8 Nitro Buggy European Championships. Reno also went onto TQ the highly contested 1/8 Nitro Buggy class at Neo14. Reno has re-signed with Team Orion and will use all Team Orion's 1/10 & 1/8 Electric Products, along with Team Orion's CRF Engines.

Ryan Cavalieri - Electric

Interesting Fact: 4-Time IFMAR World Champion & Back 2 Back Reedy International Race of Champions Invitational winner Ryan Cavalieri has re-signed with Team Orion! Ryan became part of an exclusive club when he won both the 2wd Modified Buggy & 4wd Modified Buggy classes for Team Orion at the 2011 IFMAR World Championships in Finland. Ryan will use all Team Orion's 1/10 & 1/8 Electric Products.

Jared Tebo - Electric

Interesting Fact: Defending 2wd Modified Buggy IFMAR World Champion, Jared Tebo has re-signed with Team Orion! Jared has won countless races over the past year and is looking towards the future. Jared will use all Team Orion's 1/10 & 1/8 Electric Products.

Ty Tessman - Electric

Interesting Fact: Back 2 Back 4wd Modified Buggy ROAR National Champion Ty Tessman has re-signed with Team Orion! Ty also finished 3rd overall at the 2013 IFMAR World Championships in 4wd Modified Buggy. Ty will use all Team Orion's 1/10 & 1/8 Electric Products.

Jilles Groskamp - Electric

Interesting Fact: 2012 ISTC World Champion Jilles Groskamp has re-signed with Team Orion! Jilles will continue to use all Team Orion's 1/10 TC Electric Products.

Jorn Neumann - Electric

Interesting Fact: 2013 4wd Modified Buggy IFMAR World's TQ & 2014 2-Time 1/10 Off-Road European Champion Jorn Neumann has re-signed with Team Orion! Jorn will use Team Orion's 1/10 & 1/8 Electric Products.

Dustin Evans - Electric

Interesting Fact: Former 2wd Modified Buggy ROAR National Champion & Reedy International Race of Champions Invitational winner Dustin Evans has re-signed with Team Orion! Dustin will continue to use all Team Orion's 1/10 Electric Products.

Christoper Krapp - Electric

Interesting Fact: Christopher has made his mark in this industry by being ultra competitive in 1/10 Electric Touring Car and 1/10 Electric Off-Road. Krapp's best result came at the 2010 ISTC World Championships where he finished an impressive 4th overall. Christopher has re-signed with Team Orion and will use all Team Orion's 1/10 TC & 1/10 Off-Road Electric Products.
