Jilles Groskamp, the 2012 ISTC World Champion who had been a mainstay of the Tamiya Racing Factory team since 2007, has chosen to go in a new direction for 2015 and will not renew his contract. Despite TRF having just released the 419 last season, Groskamp cited a new opportunity presenting itself - one that we expect he will announce shortly. Groskamp confirmed the move in this statement:

“Today is the day I will not be driving for Tamiya anymore! I have decided not to renew my contract with them for the 2015-2016 season. A new adventure has come on my path and I’m more motivated and excited then ever. I want to thank Tamiya for 7 great years! I have won my first Euro and World title with them and without their help I will not have achieved those ultimate victories! I would like to wish all the Tamiya guys lots of success and I’m sure they will as the 419 is a great car! For all my “Tamiya” fans all over the world I would like to thank you for all the support and I’m very sorry to tell you this news but you are always welcome to visit me at the races for a chat or drop me a message! Soon I will inform you more about my new adventure, so stay tuned!”
