From AZ Central:

There's a huge racing weekend ahead, not just at Phoenix International Raceway.

This weekend at Phoenix Indoor Karting, also known as Hobby Town USA, the 29th annual Cactus Classic Off-Road R/C Championship Race is moving indoors for the first time in the history of the event.

The race is the largest and most prestigious electric off-road racing in the world.

Five hundred racers will be in town from all over the world — Germany, Japan, Australia and 20 different states in the U.S.

The races take place March 13 to 15, and are sure to be an adrenaline-packed experience for spectators.

Imagine these cars flying around the track at high speeds, following just inches behind, taking turns and leaping into the air in dramatic fashion.

The race is free to watch. Spectators can also exercise their need for speed on the indoor go-kart track.

Phoenix Indoor Karting is located at Greenway Rd. and 35th Ave.
