Press release from Yatabe Arena:

JMRCA National Championship & Warm-up Race

Date: 5 to 7 June, 2015
National Body: Japan Model Radio-control Car Association (JMRCA)
Track: Yatabe Arena

Notes about the track:

The track that will be used for the 2015 IFMAR Electric Off Road World Championship will be a temporary track (artificial turf surface) located where the carpet surface on-road track currently exists.

(Left) On-road Grand Prix track where temporary track will be located. (Right) Artist's rendition of artificial turf surface temporary track. Actual layout will vary from image.

The Warm-up Race will be held as part of the JMRCA National Championship in June, using the temporary track. The temporary track will be limited-availability track set up only during the Warm-up Race (June 5 ~ 7), the days after the warm-up (June 8 ~ 14) and during the actual World Championship (October 3 ~ 10).

Limiting the track availability will remove the advantage toward local drivers, which will lead to fair and equal conditions; a benefit to drivers from all around the world.

Time Schedule:

The following is the up-to-date schedule (as of March 7, 2015)

No practice days prior to the Warm-up Race / JMRCA Nationals

Rules and Other Information

Entries for the Warm-up Race

Along with this year’s JMRCA EP Offroad Nationals will be a “Warm-Up Race” in preparation for the World Championship. The maximum number of entries for the JMRCA EP Offroad Nationals and Warm-up Race will be 150 participants for each of the 2WD and 4WD classes.

If the number of entries exceeds 150 participants, those who have passed the JMRCA EP Offroad Nationals District Qualifying Races and overseas drivers who will participate in the World Championships will be given priority.

Overseas drivers without JMRCA membership are permitted to enter the race. (However, if an oversea driver wins the race, he or she will not be given the title of JMRCA Nationals Champion.)

Rights for the Champion Title

In the JMRCA EP Offroad Nationals and Warm-up Race, there are no class differentiation in both qualifying and finals. Both Japanese and overseas drivers have the right to the Champion title for the Warm-up Race, however, only JMRCA members (those with Japanese citizenship) have the right to the Champion title of the JMRCA EP Offroad Nationals.

Number of Rounds

In general, there are 4 qualifying rounds, however, if there are many participants, 3 qualifying rounds will be run.

Controlled Tires and Inserts

The tires and inserts for the JMRCA EP Offroad Nationals and Warm-up Race will be the same controlled tires and inserts used for this year’s World Championship. Please obtain your tires and inserts before the race. They can be obtained at Yatabe Arena on the day of the race as well.

The tires and inserts must be inspected by the JMRCA staff at the Tire Area before they are glued to the wheel. Gluing is to be performed at the Tire Area and after gluing, the JMRCA staff will mark the tires so that they can be used in the race. (Do not glue the tires before inspection!)

As crowding is expected at the Tire Area, the area will also be open on the previous day. (The tire area will be open from 12:00 ~ 19:00 on Thursday, June 4th.)

There are no limits to the number of tires and inserts used during the JMRCA EP Offroad Nationals and Warm-up Race.
