RC Racers for Autism, benefiting Autism Speaks, will be hosted by WFO Raceway in association with Code3RC Saturday, May 16. This one-day event will bring together 1/10 and 1/8 scale Electric RC Racers from Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and beyond.

In its second year, RC Racers for Autism is looking to welcome 100 entries this year. With more racers committed this year, the race has secured big name sponsors such as Tower Hobbies, AMain and Carpys, as well as POWRcR, dirtskinz, Max Environmental and ACS Hobbies.

"The race is extremely personal to me," said Desiree Pollard, event director. "My 9-year-old son has autism. RC racing has been a wonderful activity for him, and it is something that my entire family does together weekly. Traveling around Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia, we are making new friends and increasing autism awareness and acceptance."

The event promises great racing, raffles and giveaways.

"Autism Speaks' resources we invaluable to me when my son was diagnosed with autism. This event is away for us to give back so the organization can continue to help families."

Gates open at 8 a.m. and racing starts at 10. The cost is $20 for the first class, $10 for the second and $5 for each additional. A family discount is available for $40.
