Ramp-busting world record jump attempt fail [VIDEO]

Stratford, Wisconsin's Josh Zimmerman of Freestyle RC has been preparing to attempt a record-breaking jump at this weekend's Stratford Heritage Days community festival, building large ramps and sacrificing several RC car parts in the process.

He posted the following video to YouTube and Facebook last week, showing a trial run that came up a bit short - breaking the lip of the landing ramp, but surprisingly not destroying the car (at least upon first inspection). While the run may have come to an unfortunate end, Josh seemed to think it was just as entertaining as most of his viewers have. Here's the replay:

As you can imagine, that wasn't his only unsuccessful attempt - here are a few more:

Josh did successfully complete a jump of 112 feet (unfortunately, the Facebook video cannot be embedded on our site) - so while he's making progress, and the grass landing was undoubtedly more forgiving than asphalt, he's got bit to go.
