As a part of the XRAY's Factory Team Top Option Parts series I am happy to share with you my favorite option parts that I use on my XRAY T4'15. I frequently receive the question from both new and old XRAY customers – “What parts are necessary to achieve the maximum performance of my T4 kit?”

Starting with the suspension, and steering system - for improved handling, increased steering, as well as improved overall grip, I am using the Graphite Front & Rear Suspension Arms along with the Graphite Steering Plate Set. Graphite Arms also prevents my tires from overheating, as well as will free up the car in high grip conditions. The Graphite Steering Plate improves steering response and gives the car a quicker direction change.

Another essential item is the ECS drive shaft, which decreases wheel vibration on the front axle as the wheels are turned, which directly results in increased corner speed. The ECS driveshaft is a must have for any serious racer. At certain tracks and conditions, we even use the ECS 50mm on the rear axle of the car, which can help to improve on-power steering as well as free up the rear of the car in general.

For even more cornering speed and improved handling I use XRAY 4S Progressive Springs or 4S Linear Springs in different hardnesses depending on track layout, which gives me a good feeling during cornering. The progressive springs provide additional roll, which helps the car get around corners better, as well as preserve tire temperature. The XRAY 4S Progressive Springs are the only true progressive springs on the market at this point. Other manufacturers are occasionally using the market leading XRAY springs on their cars as well. The line of linear springs gives a smooth and neutral feeling for most conditions, and helps the car rotate a bit better off the corner, compared to the progressive springs. The springs range from a rate of 2.3 to 2.9 “C” rating.

Just like optional springs, optional Anti-Roll Bars are sometimes necessary to fine tune the setup for some particular conditions. For asphalt, our basic setup usually features the 1.3 front and 1.2 rear bars, as opposed to the kit standard, 1.4 front and 1.3 rear which are better suited for carpet tracks.

For increased acceleration and deceleration, you may want to lower the weight of your car with some of the lightweight optional parts; some of these parts also provide better durability. The Graphite front upper bumper and of course the Alu Dual Servo Saver are good choices. The Alu Servo Saver arms also improve steering response and allow for more maximum steering lock to be used which gives the car a smaller physical steering radius.

Furthermore, the drivetrain can be strengthened by the use of Hudy Spring Steel diff and Solid Axle Outdrive adapters. These items make the drivetrain virtually bulletproof to any breakages even when using a very hard rear gear differential fluid, which in itself puts more stress on the outdrives.

To free up the drivetrain, I highly recommend the Low Friction front and rear belts. These belts decreases friction from the entire drivetrain and give the car better acceleration.

For asphalt tracks, I usually run the optional Alu Wheel Offset hubs “0.75mm” which reduces the offset on the wheel axles, to improve overall grip of the car.

Some very practical items are the Alu Adjustable Body Post Stops which allow me to finely set the height of my body, as well as provide a bit of bling to the most visible parts of my car. Last but not least, the Adjustable Battery Holders are very useful to keep the battery in place, as well as allowing for different positioning of the battery itself.

All XRAY optional parts are race proven by our factory team in all possible conditions. This is the list of my most preferable option parts; to better help you choose the desired parts for your specific application.
