According to a message that landed in our page's Facebook inbox over the weekend, the 2018 IFMAR World Championship for 1/8-Scale Off-Road Buggies may be held in Perth, Australia. The Western Australia capital hosted the FEMCA Championship a couple of weeks ago, where Team Associated's Kyle McBride won his fourth title.
The message came from a credible source with insight into business related to racing in that particular part of the globe, who of course asked not to be identified. The information only stands as a rumor, then as no official confirmation has been made - in fact, by IFMAR custom the 2018 host won't be announced until the final day of the 2016 Worlds next year in Las Vegas.
There's still a lot of time left between now and the 2018 Worlds, so this could change - but I imagine that McBride wouldn't be the only one excited for the race to be held down under!
