After publishing a teaser image last week, Yokomo has announced the full details of its new 2016 edition BD7 touring car. The latest version of the platform retains the carbon fiber main chassis plate, which the team feels offer the best versatility across asphalt and carpet surfaces, yet features major revisions to the drivetrain and suspension.

Lower-profile bulkheads move the front spool and rear differential 3mm lower, and the pulleys are a smaller diameter to suit the new construction. Shorter bulkhead covers are also 3mm lower, and the top deck now sits 2mm lower. The shock towers are 7.8mm lower than the 2015 version. New 11.2mm SLF Short Shock II big bore dampers with a 1mm larger diameter increase oil volume for more consistent performance. Spring steel double-joint front universal shafts complete the package.

In addition to the complete BD7 2016 kit, due to ship at the beginning of December, a conversion kit for the 2015-edition BD7 will also be available.
