RC Crew Chief has announced the latest version of the setup software has been released. As usual the upgrade is free to all registered users, and will be delivered automatically the second time the program is opened with an active internet connection.

The most important part of the new version is the program is no longer constrained by the structure of the original database. This now means expansion into new areas to help in tuning steering, damping, etc.

New version includes the following improvements:

  • Aero and Mechanical constants now stored with car model.
  • Aero Calculator added.
Chassis Manager

  • Alternate positions for the Horizontal offset of inner hinge pin position added
  • Alternate positions for Vertical offset of arm to hub connection added.
  • Number of alternate positions permitted for each suspension link increased to 100.
  • Double row of upper shock mount added. Second row may be aligned with the first or staggered.
  • Lower shock mount points may now be angled relative to the ihinge pin to hub line.
Setup Page
  • Track Width and Droop now saved with setups
Dynamic Page
  • Improved dynamic model
  • Better coupling between front and rear suspension.
  • Added camber gauge to animation
  • Added push/loose bar graph to animation.
  • Ability to change vehicle mass included in Acceleration simulation.
