When Serpent released their new 1/8-scale electric truck on Tuesday they included photos of the ring and pinion gears - which, as it turns out, are new spiral cut options that are also compatible with the company's nitro truck. Using a 10-tooth pinion and 43-tooth ring, the spiral cut teeth are stronger and spin more smoothly than straight-cut teeth.
Serpent says that a 13-tooth pinion and 44-tooth ring are being tested for the buggy platforms as well.
