Maryland-based FTM Grip is a new venture for thirty-year RC veteran Bill Dolch, who started FTM in 2004 as a brushed motor tuner and NiMH battery matcher. The assortment of four different traction compounds are specially formulated to offer specific advantages in different track conditions - and, as Bill says, “if [he] didn’t believe in it, he wouldn’t sell it.”

RED - softener and conditioner intended for clay tracks, especially when damp. Works well to break in new treads.

BLUE - Medium-strength formula works best on high-bite surfaces.

GOLD - Provides maximum grip on low-traction tracks

YELLOW - Maximum softening power to be used on wet tracks

All four formulas are available in either 2 or 4 oz. bottles, and sold both individually as well as in combo packs.

FTM Grip also offers pre-tuned Dualsky “Z5 Challenge” modified-class brushless motors, which are tested before they’re sold. The rotors are zapped for maximum torque, bearings are cleaned and re-oiled, and the motor is shimmed to ensure the rotor is perfectly aligned with the stator. FTM currently offers 6.5, 7.5, and 8.5-turn options.
