The One Eighth Racers of Toledo, OH was formed in 1968, making it one of the oldest active RC racing clubs in North America. The club got its start competing in parking lots but now operates one of the nicest asphalt racing facilities on the continent. In addition to a couple of ROAR National Championships in the last decade, the group also organizes about a dozen races between April and October, including its marquee annual event - the Great Lakes Challenge. Last weekend, the One Eighth Racers hosted a full-capacity crowd of over 160 entries for the 17th annual GLC, making it one of the largest and longest-running nitro on-road races on the planet.

Despite an early threat of rain, the schedule went off without a hitch. Mike Myers from the Starting Grid Magazine, who has attended every Great Lakes Challenge (since before it was even called the GLC), documented the event on his SmugMug page as well as on the official RCTech thread for the race. Here are podium photos and race results from Myers, who will be updating the equipment sheets and posting them to RCTech throughout the week.
