XRAY's Bruno Coelho was the fastest 4WD racer in the untimed practice heats, before slowing down to "mortal" levels in seeding. In Q1, however, Coelho reverted to the form that saw him leaving the rest of the field in the dust on Thursday, finishing over four seconds faster than the rest of the field while many drivers in the 'A' heat had issues - including early leader Naoto Matsukura, who dropped out with a mechanical failure. British Yokomo driver Tom Cockerill finished second for the round after winning the 'B' heat, with European Champion Michal Orlowski just 18-thousandths of a second behind in third. David Ronnefalk was just another 6-thousandths behind, having improved his HB D413 with suspension adjustments following yesterday's practice, with American Yokomo driver Carson Wernimont 3-tenths further back after running in the B-heat.
