Kurzbuch crowned World Champion after nail-biting finish

Simon Kurzbuch wins the IFMAR 1/8th World Championship

Simon Kurzbuch made a dream come true and claimed the first world championship title for Team Shepherd. Already in qualifying he showed his talent when he took the TQ honors by winning 4 rounds in a row. In the 1h final Simon and his pitcrew consisting of his father and his brother were pushed to the limit but they kept cool and his Velox V8 was running flawlessly. After the final round of pitstops Simon re-took the lead but it was a race to the checkered flag. With nerves of steel Simon managed to cross the finishing line just 0,214sec in front of Takaaki Shimo who also showed an excellent performance and great sportsmanship. Congratulations go to both drivers for this epic battle.

Brazilian Shepherd racer Flavio Elias managed to win his semi-final and started the final from 4th position. Due to the need to refuel after 4min he had to do some extra pitstops and finished the main final on 4th position.
