This week-end was the first round of the RCMBT/ Electric 1/8 French National, held at Montpelier’s track, well known for the world famous GP of Montpellier. Franck and his crew did another great job with the track and organization. It’s the 4th season of the championship put together by rcmag.com in 2013, and it becomes really popular attracting some of the best french drivers such as Yannick Aigoin, Jérôme Sartel and Reno Savoya.
On friday, all the drivers got controlled practice, followed on saturday by 3 x 10mins qualifications. A lot of runtime for all drivers in order to work on the perfect setup. Reno was really happy with his combo RC Concept Prototype ESC / EC-8 2100 Motor and Omega 8000mah Battery.
On Saturday, Savoya TQed the first 2 rounds wrapping up the Overall TQ in front of Yannick Aigoin who took 3rd round by less than 1 sec. Everything was looking promising for a great battle on the triple A-Mains.
A-Main #1, Savoya took the win by over 10sec in front of Yannick and Carl Maignien.
A-Main #2, Savoya took again the win to take the overall win, finishing up the perfect week-end for him. Yannick ended up 2nd and Carl 3rd again.
A-Main #3, Sartel took the win in front of Yannick and complete the final spot on the podium.
Jérôme Delcourt had also a great week-end ended up 5th using same RC Concept set-up as Reno: ESC Prototype / EC-8 2100 Motor and Omega 8000mah battery.
Thanks to everyone involved and see you at rd2.
