Kothman took two wins, Phend topped Pro Buggy at East Coast Champs

RC Excitement in Fitchburg, MA hosted its seventh annual East Coast Champs last weekend, which attracted pro drivers Dakotah Phend and Cole Ogden to the notable Northeast outdoor off-road event. The hot, dry weather and the tight and tricky RCE outdoor course provided a challenge for drivers entered in seven different classes. 

Not only did over 70 entries show up to compete, but the Horizon Hobby Road Trip Crew performed demos and let visitors take a spin behind the wheel of new vehicles.

The demos included the new Losi Baja Rey, which was a perfect fit for the rock racing course at RC Excitement.

On Sunday morning, Phend and Ogden volunteered to take racers on a free track walk to discuss racing lines and offer driving advice.

And when they weren’t helping fellow drivers, they too took a turn behind some of the Horizon Hobby demo vehicles.
