ROAR Region 4 1/10th Electric Off-Road Championships

Superior Hobbies Beachline Raceway was the host of this year’s ROAR region 4 1/10th electric off-road championships. The large turnout and over 100deg weather made for three long hot days of exciting R/C racing.

Practice on Friday saw drivers from all over Florida and even a few from Georgia arrive to do battle for the coveted regional tittles. With a fresh layout the traction was not as high as normal at Beachline. Most of the team started the day on JConcepts Dirt Webs in gold compound, as the day progressed many had moved on to Smoothies.

Saturday started early with two hours of open practice starting at 7am followed by three rounds of qualifying. At the end of qualifying JConcepts team drivers would TQ four classes. AJ Marasco- Stock SCT, Alan Wight- Stock Truck, JR Mitch- 4wd Mod Buggy and Dave Duncan- Mod Truck. All of them using JConcepts Smoothies in gold compound.

Sunday was another early start with two hours of open practice before the start of the triple A-mains. In Stock SCT AJ Marasco would capitalize on his TQ and win Both A1 and A2 capturing the overall tittle.

Alan Wight would also win the first two A-mains taking the overall win in Stock Truck. Dave Duncan also wrapped things up early winning A1 and A2 in Mod Truck. In 4wd Mod Buggy JR Mitch would show in the mains why he was the top qualifier taking the win in A1 and A2.

In 2wd Mod buggy JR Mitch would start 2nd on the grid. JR put in a great run to win A1, in A2 JR would retire early with a mechanical issue setting things up for an interesting A3. In A3 JR would capitalize on an early mistake and take over the lead, there he was able to hang on to clench the 2wd Mod tittle.
