Karlsen crowned European 4WD Junior champion [VIDEO]

In addition to Coelho's runner-up finish in the 4WD class last weekend in Spain, XRAY's Malin Karlsen scored the Junior Championship by finishing 7th overall, ahead of Joona Haatanen (9th overall) and Max Mort (11th overall). Here's a video of the Junior award ceremony.

XB4 European Vice-Champion 2016 in 1/10 4WD electric buggy

Martin Bayer:

"Last weekend Team XRAY travelled to Valladolid for European championship 2wd and 4wd. Bruno Coelho with Juraj arrived later on Monday due ETS race on Sunday.

Me, Hupo Honigl and Martin Wollanka start practice with 2wd. Conditions has been very difficult. Car worked very well but the race was mainly about very small details and runs without mistakes. I think we had bigger chance for better result but our mistakes cost us better finish. In the end Bruno was very fast with his XB2 dirt version. Days has been very hot in Spain and difficult for cars, electronic and tires.

After 2wd race we have been looking forward to race with our XB4. Since first practice we have been fastest on track and we all enjoyed racing 4wd class. It's just much faster and 4wd is like modified touring car. Just much more fun.

We have been very fast after practice. Top 4 XRAY cars and 5 cars in the top 10. I think these numbers say everything. Qualifications has been up and down. We missed racing luck but still we put 5 cars to A-main.

We all had the best speed but we made some mistakes which cost us podium. In the end we had speed for win but we finished 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th and 9th. It has been great race weekend and we all enjoy good atmosphere and the racing on the track."

Bruno Coelho:

"The race was really good, I was able to set the pace early from free practice. I was really happy with the performance of the car. The XB4 works great in all conditions so I had no problems and I manage the TQ.

In the finals with a bit of lack of experience on my side on dirt tracks I didn't manage to go further than second place after taking 2nd place in A1 where I started from 10th, A2 win and 2nd place in A3. But even so it was a really positive result for myself and also to my XRAY family since we managed to get 5x XB4 cars in the main final."
