Race report from Kyle Rhodes (via Facebook):

“A successful weekend at the 2016 ROAR Regionals. My Tekno RC NB48.3 and NT48.3 were dialed from the first lap to the last on Pro-Line Racing fugitives and blockades powered by Alpha engines and back by Wolcott Hobby and Airsoft. I was able to walk away with TQ and first in truggy and first in buggy after qualifying second. Thank you to everyone who supports me and helped me throughout the day!”

Race report from Aaron Kothman (via Facebook):

“Yesterday I attended the Region 1 ROAR 1/8th scale regionals at Wolcott Hobby in Wolcott Connecticut. I entered Nitro Buggy, Nitro Truggy, and Electric Buggy. After making quite a few changes to the cars from the tracks I had been running over the last few weeks they would all feel locked in on Proline tires. After 3 rounds of qualifying was over I had TQ in Nitro Buggy & Electric Buggy and 2nd in Nitro Truggy. Truggy was up first and unfortunately my engine tune made driving very difficult and then my receiver pack would lose connection and I would runaway off the track with just over a minute left. I still managed a 4th place finish overall.

Next up was the 30 minute Nitro Buggy feature where I would lead for a bit, make some mistakes falling back to 6th and go nearly a lap down, push to come back and finish 2nd. It was my first time running my new Reds Racing R7 Evoke V3.0 engine in my buggy and it did not disappoint. Amazing power and smoothness. I am excited about the new Reds Engines in my cars as I feel they are definitely going to improve my racing. I should have the Reds in my Truggy next time out.

Last up was the Electric Buggy A main. Sitting TQ the tone would sound and literally the first feature my car kicked weird and I tumbled end over end as the 11 other cars passed by. I found myself in 12th 1:30 into the race before a marshall would get injured forcing a stop to the race as we waited for the ambulance. I hope to hear or read that the marshall is doing ok and will be better soon. I want to thank that marshall because she was volunteering all day to help us get our races in. 30-40 minutes would pass before the drivers elected to rerun the race. The grid was reset based how we all crossed the line before the stop. I would be starting in 11th this time. I found myself back on point after 3-4 laps and I never looked back taking the win.

It was a fun day and want to thank Lester Bastenbeck, Kyle Rhodes, and the Wolcott crew. My sponsors who back me with the best products #‎TLRacing #‎TeamLosiRacing #‎HorizonHobby #‎SpektrumRC #‎ProlineRacing #‎REDS . Time to switch gears and do some 1/10 racing this week as we are off to the ROAR Electric Nationals.”
