Race report from Adam Curry:

My race weekend started off at Eds RC and Hobby for the New Years Trophy race. When we arrived the track was damp, and some of thought about racing on slicks, but we gambled as the track could have dried out and become loose for Slicks. I decided to run a treaded tire for the consistency and I knew that I could rely on them to be pretty good. As my heat rolled around the track looked damp, but I still decided to run treads. I went out and made some laps and my car felt good and I was able to take the TQ Spot and repeat for the 3 heats. I felt confident for the Main even after watering the track I knew that treads would still be good. We lined our cars up and the start was good for me. I had a few battles at the beginning and I was able to stretch a small lead until a crash in the center of the track. The number 2 car got very close and I had to start driving hard, but I was still able to hold on for the 6 minute main and take the win.

Race day number two at Sparks Park RC for the Hangover race started out to be a struggle for me. In 1/8 Electric Buggy, I went out in the 1st round and was very confident in my car. The race began and I started to make my way through the field with very minimal mistakes and was on a good TQ pace until less than one minute to go my car shut down on the straight away due to a heating issue which left me way back in the A heat. Heat number two would look to be no better as I once again was on a TQ run and laying down my fastest laps of the day we had another issue that caused me to overheat again with the motor coming loose. Finally for the A Main I was qualified 5th and the start went very well as I got through traffic quickly within 4 to 5 laps I was up to the 3 spot. With about two minutes to go I was able to take the lead after a few small bobbles and I drove safely to the number one spot.

All in all I had an extremely good weekend and would like to thank my Dad for helping me get to where I am today, my good friend Don Jimerson for giving me a car to race for Sparks, Ed at Eds Rc, Ray Folland over at Sticky Kicks Rc, Kurt Wenger from Schelle Racing, Everyone from LRP america, and Justin Huber from JL Designs.
