The La Jara Club in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, in the Cádiz province of Andalucia in southern Spain, hosted the first round of country’s national championship for 1/8-scale electric off-road buggies last weekend. The track, built inside a greenhouse, is lit by natural light while still being protected from weather. Mugen Seiki’s Juan Carlos Canas earned the overall Top Qualifier honors over teammate Robert Batlle and Team Losi Racing driver Oscar Baldo.
Batlle won the first of three 10-minute A-Mains over Canas by three seconds, and then wrapped up the overall title in the second race despite losing the wing of his MBX7R Eco. Canas beat Baldo in A3 to secure second overall on the podium, followed by Team Associated’s Carlos Pineda.
