X-Factory UK Dominates once more at the second UK SC National of 2017....
Sunday 21st May saw the second round of the 2017 UK Short Course nationals take place at the Leverton Raceway on the UK's east coast. Over 60 truck racers were in attendance once more to battle it out for the honours
The most popular class as ever was 2wd SCT with just over 40 entries. X-Factory UK had team members Rich Miller Oliver Szymanski and Darren Boyle taking part with both Rich and Darren looking to emulate their top 3 positions from round 1. After 4 rounds of qualifying it was our own Rich Miller who dominated proceedings with his Corally powered PR Racing SC201 by taking TQ in all four rounds of qualify. Darren would line up third in the A with Oli completing the trio qualifying in 7th overall
In the A finals, Rich continued his dominance on the day by taking all three legs of the final to complete the "perfect 7" to round out a superb day. Final positions were Rich Miller (PR SC201) 1st and TQ, Oli Szymanski 6th and Darren Boyle 8th.
So after the excitement of 2wd could the faster 4wd trucks provide another nail biter like EPR...
The X-Factory UK team were on fire in round 1 at EPR, was it a fluke, was it a one off, the simple answer was no!! Lewis Williamson took the first two rounds to TQ overall then team mates Jon Szymanski and Darren Boyle took a round each to line up 2nd and 3rd for another X-Factory UK/TLR lockout at the top. The change to the TLR TEN SCTE 3.0 for the X-Factory UK team for the 2017 season has been a huge turning point with the apparent superior performance of this vehicle showing for the second meeting running with five out of the top seven all running it.
On to the finals and leg 1 of the A was a scrappy affair with lots of take outs and poor driving further down the field. Lewis eventually scraped through to take the win from Darren. Leg 2 and another win for Lewis secured the win, this time followed home by Jonathan with Darren third, sealing the overall win for Lewis but all to play for in 2nd and 3rd. Leg three went the way of Darren who secured 2nd, Jonathan took 3rd with team mates Oli Szymanski and Gareth Cutting taking 5th and 6th to once more give X-Factory UK/TLR 5 out of the top 6 places overall - a simply stunning achievement two meetings in a row.
The next round moves to the North West in Blackpool in two weeks time where the team look to continue their great start..
