The 10th Annual Surf City Classic was held this past weekend at OC R/C Raceway in Huntington Beach, California. Every year this event continues to gain more and more momentum, this year would be no different. In only 6-minutes...all 300 entries were in and accounted for. OC R/C then made the great decision to open up 40 more entries to reach an impressive 340 for the event!

Team Orion would be very well represented at this years Surf City Classic with 2 of there top drivers:

Current 2wd, 4wd, Truck, & 1/8 E Truggy ROAR National Champion - Ty Tessmann
Current 1/8 E Buggy ROAR National Champion - Ryan Maifield

Also in attendance for Team Orion was USA Team Manager Joe Pillars, along with Team Orion USA Drivers: Tanner Denney, Frank Root, Chris Jarosz, Zack Rogers, and David Jenson.

4wd Modified Buggy

In the 4wd Modified Buggy class, it was Team Orion's Ryan Maifield that would take the overall TQ honors! Maifield would go onto lead every lap and take the convincing Win in the single 10-minute A-Main Event to bring home his 1st Title of the weekend! Team Orion's Ty Tessmann showed great pace and battled back to finish on the podium in 3rd!

1/8 Electric Buggy

In the 1/8 Electric Buggy class, it was all Team Orion's Ryan Maifield in qualifying as he went onto TQ all 4 rounds! Maifield then went onto dominate the single 10-minute A-Main Event by leading every lap and cruising home for the Win by over half a lap to take home his 2nd Title of the weekend! Team Orion's Tanner Denney put in a great performance as he qualified and finished 2nd to put Team Orion 1st & 2nd on the podium!
