The first round of the 2018 BRCA Clubman Championship took place at West London on the 8th April. The event was well attended, with a near full entry list.

‘Wet London’ continued to live up to its name, with relentless rain leading to worsening track conditions as the day progressed. Schumacher Design and Development Engineer Aaron Rose took a closely contested TQ with his Mi6evo in the 13.5 boosted class from another Mi6evo of Andrew Robson (2nd), and Dominic Carter (3rd). Andrew Robson drove superbly in the deteriorating conditions to take both leg wins and the overall win, followed by Aaron Rose in second and Jamie Vassallo in third, giving Schumacher a 1-2 and a great start to the championship.

In the 17.5 blinky class, Bill Fletcher took a reasonably commanding victory from Gareth Hollis (2nd) and Mark Trinder (3rd). Meanwhile, Ben Cosgrove won the Formula One category from Luke Lee (2nd) and Lee Owen (3rd). The series moves on to Adur for Round 2 of the BRCA Clubman championship on May 6th.
