Race Report from Tim Barth:

We could not have asked for nicer weather for the first race of the season. We had a total of 18 entries spread out among Busch, Limited Sportsman and Sportsman. Normally I will report on heat race winners. I did not grab that results sheet this week.

The Busch A main was won by Jarret Raber in his first quarterscale race at GLQSR. Dave Pipchok took 2nd. Ryan Herron and Orrin Sunde had trouble early.

Busch Results

  1. Jarret Raber 50 laps
  2. Dave Pipchok 50 laps
  3. Ryan Herron 13 laps
  4. Orric Sunde 8 laps

Limited Sportsman was up next and provided the most competition of the day as everyone remained on the lead lap through most of the race. Gary Revenaugh fought handling problems all day and did not start. Kevin Deshone ran into bad luck at lap 59 and retired with problems on the right rear of the car. The rest of the field continue to dice for the lead with most taking a shot at leading. There were some aggressive moves on restarts in the last 20 laps as everyone was near the same speed trying to get to the front. Scott Rance, Bob Hendry and Bart Ketner all spent time at the front in the last half of the race. Going into the last lap early leader Bob Hendry tried to hold off Shane Wagner going into turn one. They touched and spun bringing out the last caution. Wagner manned up giving Hendry back the 2nd spot. Tim Barth took the win in his first race at GLQSR.

Limited Results

  1. Tim Barth 100 laps
  2. Bob Hendry 100
  3. Bart Ketner 100
  4. Jamie Huver 100
  5. Shane Wagner 100
  6. Scott Rance 95
  7. Kevin Deshone 59
  8. Gary Revenaugh 0

The Sportsman heat races were dominated by Dave Raber although John Kissel spent some time leading in the 2nd heat race. Raber would lead the field to green. Bryan Dye did not start as he suffered with handling problems all day. On lap 10, Kissel got loose off of 4 slamming the outside wall collecting Matt Mennare. Both cars were severely damaged. Mennare would be able to fix his car getting back into the 59 laps down. Raber continued to dominate winning by over a lap on Bill Rabideau and Gary Mouser. All drivers picked up speed in the main and ran laps closer to what Raber was running. Mennare never lost another lap when he came back on the track.

Sportsman Results

  2. Bill Rabideau 149
  3. Gary Mouser 148
  4. Matt Mennare 91
