Shepherd Race Report:

German Shepherd driver, Daniel Sieber, is the 2013 European Champion with the Velox V8 "PRO". At last weeks European Championship B in Aigen-Schlägl he took the win in an amazing race after TQ'ing the event while his Shepherd teammates Jürg Nydegger, Frank Schewiola and Thilo Tödtmann finished in 4th, 5th and 9th position making it 4 Velox in the main final. Additionally Italian youngster Simone Pausini was crowned as European Junior Champion making the Euros a full success for Team Shepherd.

Already during qualifying Sieber showed his skills being the only driver to score 20 laps at the nice and fast track of Aigen-Schlägl. Also young Shepherd racer Maxi Vogl was very fast during qualifing and missed the 20th lap by only 0,6sec making it a Shepherd 1-2 after qualification. Starting from the pole-position in the semi-final B Maxi Vogl had some bad luck as the wet conditions compromised his electronics which forced him to retire early. Unimpressed by the wet tarmac Frank Schewiola crossed the finishing line in a safe second place after he had already bumped up from the quarter-final.

In the semi-final A Sieber showed a convincing performance controlling the race at the front from the start to the checkered flag. Swiss Shepherd driver Jürg Nydegger finshed in 3rd position while German racer Thilo Tödtmann finished in 5th position claiming the last bump-up spot. The 45min main final saw thrilling action and a lot of position changes. After the last pit stops Sieber was in control of the race several seconds in front of his rivals. At his first major nitro on-road race he switched to cruise-mode for the last laps crossing the finishing in first position to claim the title.

The new Velox V8 "PRO", which hit the race track the first time at this event, showed it's great potential with Shepherd having the most cars in the final.
