Last weekend hosted the 2013 Outsiders Radio Control Cup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The event was made up of shortcourse, electric buggy, nitro buggy, nitro truggy, and "open" classes. Beautiful weather and sunshine made for a gorgeous day of racing at the Barra Offroad R/C facility!
  
E-Buggy
The 1:8 E-Buggy class was stacked with competition. A back and forth battle between the front runners would come right down to the wire. Atila Cardinal would take the overall win with Bruno Fabiano, and Claudio Lagrange rounding out the top 3.
 
1st Place: Atila Cardinal
2nd Place: Bruno Fabiano
3rd Place: Claudio Lagrange
4th Place: Marco Miagostovich
5th Place: Rafael Souza

Nitro Buggy
In Nitro 1:8 Buggy the race appeared to be all Rodrigo Nakad, but mechanical issues part way through the race would drop him back to third. This allowed Roberto Oliveira and Alfredo Turin to battle to the finish for the top two spots. Oliveira would go on to win the race with Turin and Nakad finishing second and third.
 
1st Place: Roberto Oliveira
2nd Place: Alfredo Turin
3rd Place: Rodrigo Nakad

"Open"
The "Open" class was a mixture of shortcourse trucks, rally cars, and everything in between. Atila Cardinal was the man to beat as he would go on to take the win over Rodrigo Alves and Alexandre Faria.

2nd Place: Rodrigo Alves
3rd Place: Alexandre Faria
4th Place: Oscar Freitas
5th Place: Paul Anthony

Nitro Truggy
Nitro Truggy started out with Gerd Eisele taking the early lead, but shortly after mechanical troubles would bring him in for a 7 minute pit stop. Rafael Rodrigues would take advantage of Eisele's misfortune and go on to win the race with Irineu Dotto and Gerd Eisele finishing second and third.
 
1st Place: Rafael Rodrigues
2nd Place: Irenaeus Dotto
3rd Place: Gerd Eisele
Short Course
The Short Course class belonged to Mario Spiller, who took a convincing win over the field. The remaining drivers battled back and forth for the remaining podium spots with Carvalho and Serra crossing the line second and third.

2nd Place: Vicenzo Carvalho
3rd Place: Luciano Serra
4th Place: Atila Cardinal
5th Place: Gabriel Petruccelli
