Midwest Nitro Series Race Report:
Report by Ryan Klemme

Alright Rd4 is in the books for MWNS! Points are starting to really shake up at this time with only 2 races left in the series. Cheese City Extreme R/C in Monroe, Wisconsin held the round 4 event; Ryan Mellenberger the owner of Cheese City and his crew of hard workers put together an awesome layout. Filled with big air, crazy speeds, and tight turns! Finding the “dialed” set-up would prove to be challenging even for the top guys. Also in attendance was Traxxas Torq series Pro2 driver Keith Steele (www.steeleoffroad.com) with his Pro2 Race truck and crew, thanks to Ryan Mellenberger.

The drivers meeting went as normal but we added something else. I am not one to promote a race for another race track while at a current track but I feel info on this race needs to be spread out as much as possible. Steve Johnson (racer of the series) wife Cathy Johnson passed away last year from mesothlioma cancer. She was a HUGE supporter of Steve racing and always went to the races with him to support him and help keep his car looking good (at least off the track LOL). A benefit race is being held at Thunder Road Hobbies Sep. 27-28 with all the proceeds going to www.curemeso.org. So please come out and have a great time lots of good raffles, cash to winners and even a sponsorship to sportsman buggy winner! www.ThunderRoadHobbies.com

Now as I get my thoughts together let’s get onto the mains!

Pro Buggy
Jason Hudson of TLR would take the TQ and hold onto it from start to finish laying down fast laps as always!, Zac Rose of TLR putting in a good race put him into the 2 spot after the 30 min race, Aric Seffrood also running TLR would grab the last spot on the podium, Ryan Klemme running the TLR buggy would have to grab the first non podium spot in 4th, Kyle Bronner of TR Hobbies also running a TLR would grab the number 5 spot. All TLR for the top 5 Sonny O. having some engine issues will be using this round as a throw out, but his buggy looked great.

Pro Truggy
Zac Rose of TLR would grab the win after the 30 min main, with Sonny O. who was the TQ would grab the number 2 spot, Greg Baumel running TLR would snatch up the 3rd place on the podium just a handful of seconds behind Sonny O., Greg Wilks running TLR would grab the 1st non podium spot in 4th place, Lance Andraschko would grab the Top 5 spot by bumping out of the B main!

Sportsman Buggy
Michael Meister TLR would grab the TQ and the Win running smooth, Jesse Wolkenheim grab the 2nd spot on the podium, Matt Cockrum putting in a good run grabbed 3rd place, Brian Scott would finish in 4th, and Pat Talluingan would finish off the Top 5.

Sportsman Truggy
Anthony Patyk Clock Work Racing would grab the TQ and hold it till the end for the number 1 spot, Travis Stensrud would finish in the 2nd place spot, Mike Kerchner would take the last step on podium with his 3rd place finish, George N. would end up in 4th, Anupan Das would finish out the top 5 with a good run.

E Buggy
Jason Hudson of TLR with a dominating weekend in both Pro Buggy and E Buggy would grab the TQ and the win in Ebuggy over Allen Richards also rocking out a TLR in 2nd place, Michael Meister would end up 3rd with his TLR ebuggy, Cory Podolski from 92zero Designs would grab 4th place over Matt Cockrum who would take the 5th place spot.

As always a quick rundown of all the great sponsors of the series: Buku Performance, VP Power Master Fuel, AKA, Competition Racing Products, Thunder Road Hobbies, M2C Racing, Team Associated, VP Pro USA, Advantage Racing Products, Panther Tires, Jconcepts, Boca Bearings, PT Racing Oils, 92zero Designs.
