After two days of practice, the entrants at the 2014 ROAR Fuel Off-Road Nationals are finishing up their final warm-ups before the first round of qualifying. Both the Truck and Buggy divisions will run each day, and a vast majority of the drivers in attendance have chosen to run both - even if it's just to give themselves something to do rather than sit around all weekend just to run one class.
One of the entrants, however, still doesn't have his car!

Team Durango's Travis Amezcua, who TQ'd all four rounds at the 2006 ROAR Nationals in Charlotte, NC but hasn't raced 1/8-scale nitro since the Worlds in Argentina in 2012, wasn't scheduled to run this race. Team Durango is currently working on a new 1/8-scale buggy, and there are currently only four functioning prototypes in the world: two in the hands of Durango engineers, one campaigned in Europe by Jörn Neumann, and one driven here this weekend by Ryan Lutz (click here and scroll to the bottom to check it out). Just two weeks ago, on 6/6, Team Durango decided to send Travis one of the engineers' vehicles to run this weekend so that he could help provide setup feedback for Lutz. The car was shipped six days later on 6/12, but was held up in customs in the UK for nearly a week.

Originally addressed to Travis' home in Southern California, it had to be rerouted to Texas since it was due to arrive after he had already left for the race - Travis even documented the UPS tracking information on his Facebook page. As of this morning, the last information Travis and Ryan had on the whereabouts of the car is that it was on a truck somewhere in the state of Texas...which doesn't narrow it down much.

If it doesn't show, Travis probably won't go very fast with what he's got in his hotel room.
