T4 Wins 2014 1/10 TC Euros Warm-Up Race

The warm-up race for the 2014 European Championships in 1/10 electric touring cars was held at the Alcobendas circuit in north Madrid, Spain. A fairly low turn out in two classes (modified and 10.5T blinky stock) joined the event. The XRAY team was in attendance to make the best possible preparations for the upcoming EC event.
In modified, the low grip conditions in combination with a fairly hard spec tire (Sorex 40R) was going to make tire preparation and strategy crucial. I managed to do my entire qualifying on 1 set of tires and still take the overall TQ position in front of Spanish driver, young David Perez. Martin Hudy qualified 3rd overall. I managed to win all three finals with a decent margin, with David in 2nd and local driver Juan Hidalgo on 3rd.

The stock class was won by XRAY team driver Marek Cerny, in front of the very fast and hard charging Jaime De Esteban Y Calderon, also with an XRAY T4’14. Mattia Collina from Italy finished 3rd overall to round out the podium for XRAY.

In the end we were fairly happy with the results of the race and our testing sessions, and we feel that we have prepared ourselves well for the upcoming European Championship event. We are looking forward to seeing you all in Alcobendas in August!
