Race report from XRAY:

XB8 podium finish at Quebec classic in Canada
Race report by Renaud Savoya

One of the best event for me this season - the Quebec classic was held in Quebec and organized by JTQ. The crew put a fantastic job together with more than 100hours of track work. With more than 250 entries on a 4 days format, the race promised to be more relaxed in order for the pro to give a hand and share their knowledge with the locals. Ryan Cavalieri, Adam Drake, Ty Tessmann and I were the pros attending.

Everything started pretty bad for me landing in Montreal and I realized my bag with all my 3 cars was missing. It happend to me first time since I race RC, most of the time it was on the way back home and for a very short period of time. As I write those lines, we still don't know where my luggage is, and if I will see my cars again! After a car robbery back in April, 2014 seems to be pretty bad for my cars...

I missed then the first day of free practice, trying to rebuild a nitro buggy out of Eric Lajoie's ebuggy. I would race his truck back to back with him, using his radio and motor.

I did my best in order to focus on my racing and preparation even if I was more thinking about where my babies are, with a strange feeling I will not see it anymore.

Step by step with more tracktime I manage to get closer to my fellow pro drivers and got into the fight during the mains.
I actually could fight for the win in the nitro class as I had the speed to come back on the battling leaders. As the rain came, I was faster with way more grip than them and got back to a 2s gap when the race was stopped. The conditions were too dangerous and pointless so we decided to go back to the pit.

Even without my stuff I could see I had the speed to finally win the race so it boosted up my confidence just a few weeks away from the World Championships!
