Race report from Team Orion:

The 2014 1/8 Off-Road Nitro Buggy European Championships were held this past weekend at the Sand am Main track in Germany. Team Orion's David Ronnefalk would arrive in Germany to defend his 1/8 Buggy European Championship. Team Orion's Reno Savoya who finished 2nd last year was looking to improve his finish by 1 position this year.
Team Orion's Engine Guru, Adrien Bertin was once again on-hand at this years 1/8 Buggy Euro's to provide his excellent support to all Team Orion drivers and customers.

In practice, Ronnefalk showed he was on his game as he took the fastest overall time in the 2nd round of seeding to start 1st going into qualifying. Savoya was also very fast in the 2nd round of timed practice that would put him 3rd overall.

After all 5 rounds of qualifying were complete, it was Team Orion's David Ronnefalk who would take the overall TQ honors for the event by TQ'ing rounds #2, #3, & #4! Team Orion's Reno Savoya showed great speed in qualifying and would qualifly 6th overall.

Ronnefalk would continue his domination by taking the impressive Win in the 30-Minute Odd Semi and post the fastest overall time to start on the pole for the 1 hour A-Main Event. Team Orion's Reno Savoya would take the Win in the 30-Minute Even Semi and would post the 3rd fastest Semi time to start 3rd on the grid.

As the tone went off, it was Ronnefalk who would lead the field around for the first couple of corners. Just then, Ronnefalk made a small mistake that would drop him back in the pack which allowed Darren Bloomfield to take the lead. Throughout the next 15-minutes of racing, both Martin Bayer & Reno Savoya would also take turns in the lead with a hard charging Ronnefalk starting to push the pace and make up time on the leaders. Ronnefalk would eventually catch the leaders and re-take the lead. Ronnefalk would then continue his super fast pace that couldn't be matched by his competition and start to stretch out his lead. As the 1-Hour A-Main Event came to a close and the checkered flag was waiving, it was Team Orion's David Ronnefalk coming by the finish line first to take the Win by over 20-seconds!

This impressive back to back 1/8 Off-Road Nitro Buggy European Championship would put Ronnefalk firmly in the record books and a odds on favorite going into the Worlds next month in Sicily, Italy!
