Race report from Reedy:

The fifth and final round of the 2014 BRCA Touring Car Championship visited Mendip with the Super Touring title race yet to be decided. Chris Grainger, Colin Price, Elliot Harper, and Reedy factory driver Olly Jefferies were all mathematically alive – each with a chance to claim the title with a win.
Poor weather has been the norm this season and round five was no exception. Intermittent rain made racing difficult for the drivers on the track. Ultimately, the fast drivers were able to adapt to the conditions and end up on the top of the time sheets. Olly Jefferies earned the pole position ahead of Grainger and Price, which put him one step closer to the title.
With cross winds wreaking havoc with the cars, Olly persevered and converted his pole position advantage into a leg 1 win. In leg 2, Grainger managed to find a way around Olly to take the win and set up a leg 3 showdown for the win and the national title.
A mistake by Grainger in leg 3 gave Olly some breathing room but he was soon under pressure from Elliot Harper. Driving only as fast as he needed to, Olly held off Elliot to take the win and score enough points to secure the 2014 BRCA Touring Car Championship in the Super Touring category.
Special thanks to the BRCA and the individual race clubs for organizing another competitive series, and congratulation to the champions in all categories!
