Race report from LRP:

After having already won last weeks Rd.1, Xray / LRP driver Martin Bayer comes out on top also in Rd.2 and defends last years German 1/8 Nitro Offroad Buggy Championship title. With him on the podium: the LRP ZZ.21C Ceramic Spec.2.

The RCMBF Freising hosted the second round of the German 1/8 Nitro Offroad Buggy Championship. Their track near the Munich airport is large, fast and barely holey, with medium grip level. 120 drivers were attending, with top drivers such as Martin Bayer, Carsten Keller, Jörn Neumann, Marcel Guske and Daniel Reckward among them.

Last years’ champion Martin Bayer had already won the first round in Landshut ahead of Carsten Keller and Jörn Neumann the weekend before. He continued to dominate in Freising and drove his LRP powered Xray buggy to the TQ position, making him the top favourite for the overall title. Marcel Guske also proved to be in top shape. With his LRP S8 NXR and complete LRP equipment he directly qualified to the semi-final. A total of six drivers were racing with the LRP S8 NXR at this event.

The first two days of the event were run at dry weather conditions, but on Sunday morning – just in time for the 1/8 final – it started raining heavily. After a short time-out, the event was continued with the ¼ finals. Unfortunately, the rain turned into cloud burst then. The race director saw himself forced to abandon the event before the semi-finals. So, the so far ranking was rated the final result. Therefore, Martin Bayer was the winner in Freising ahead of Jörn Neumann and Carsten Keller. This was also exactly the overall podium of the German Nats. Martin Bayer secured the title ahead Jörn and Carsten.

Despite the unlucky weather conditions it was a successful weekend for LRP. Martin Bayer showed again that the power of LRP ZZ.21C Ceramic Spec.2 is a key to victory. In addition, he relied on the LRP Screamer-93 exhaust system and LRP Energy Power Fuel. Marcel Guske gave an impressing proof of his class as well. With the LRP S8 NXR – equipped with LRP ZZ.21C Ceramic Spec.2, LRP Screamer-93 pipe – he had best chances for a top result after having directly qualified to the semi-final. All of the three podium drivers used a LRP LiPo RX-pack in their cars. Carsten Keller additionally trusted in Sanwa transmission technology and servos.

Congratulations to the German Championship title, Martin!
