The first Kyosho Masters USA event was held at RC Tracks of Las Vegas last weekend, inviting MP9 drivers from around the world to compete at the facility selected to host the 2016 IFMAR Worlds. Just two classes were offered, nitro and electric 1/8-scale buggy, and Team Kyosho International stars Jared Tebo, Cody King, Yuichi Kanai, Elliott Boots, and Jerome Aigoin were among those who came from far and wide to attend.

Three rounds of qualifying ran on Saturday, before a special Kyosho Masters banquet. Kyosho America team manager Joe Pillars spoke to the Red Army congregation.

After the banquet, the Masters drivers hit the go-kart track right next to RC Tracks Las Vegas!

In the Electric class, British racer Elliott Boots locked up TQ by setting the fastest time in the first three rounds before U.S. driver Jared Tebo topped the fourth round, which was held on Sunday morning before the finals. Boots took the title with wins in A1 and A2, while Tebo held on for second ahead of King.

Qualifying for the Nitro class was a reversal from Electric, as Tebo was fastest early on before Boots won the final round on Sunday and clinched the TQ. The Nitro class also competed in a triple-A Main format, and Tebo jumped out to the early advantage with the A1 win over Boots and King. Boots held on to win A2 from the front of the grid, while Jerome Aigoin edged Tebo for second and set up a race for the win in A3. In a repeat of A1, Tebo got out front and beat Boots and King to win the class.
