The 2014 Kyosho Masters USA was held this past weekend at RC Tracks of Las Vegas. Team Orion Factory Driver Jared Tebo arrived in Las Vegas with high hopes of adding another elusive title to his already impressive racing resume.

Team Orion Factory Driver Jared Tebo would go onto TQ rounds #1 & #2 of qualifying with his Team Orion powered Kyosho MP9 TKI3. His Kyosho teammate Elliott Boots would then TQ rounds #3 & #4. The Overall TQ would go to Boots after the tie-breaker was calculated based on laps/times. This would have Tebo starting from the 2nd position for the 20-minute Triple A-Main format.

Going into the A-Mains, Tebo knew he was getting great fuel mileage throughout qualifying as his pit man & Team Orion USA Team Manager Joe Pillars was recording what was left in his tank after each run. With a mandatory 2 stop rule for the A-Mains, the plan would be to fuel Tebo around the 10:30 mark and then pit him again the very next lap by picking his car up and over pit lane wall, then setting him down with no fuel needed. Tebo was the only driver in the A-Main that could do this fuel strategy with the great fuel economy from his Team Orion RS Engine in collaboration with his Maxima Fuel.

A-Main #1 - Tebo got off to a great start and made a pass for the lead early into the race. Tebo continued a very fast past and stuck with his pit strategy. Tebo was able to take the Win with a comfortable 9-second margin. Elliott Boots would finish 2nd and Cody King in 3rd.

A-Main #2 - Boots rebounded nicely and took the Win. Jerome Aigoin would finish 2nd and Tebo charged hard after a rough start to work his way back up to 3rd.

A-Main #3 - The battle for the overall title would come down to a 3rd A-Main between Tebo, Boots, and Aigoin. At the start of the Main, all the major players were up front battling for the lead. Tebo then got into a groove and would start busting out fast laps and began to gap himself from the field. At the end of the 20-minute A-Main, it was Tebo just getting by for the extra lap to guarantee himself the 2014 1/8 Nitro Buggy Kyosho Masters USA Champion! Elliott Boots would finish 2nd overall and Cody King would round out the podium in 3rd.
