There may be two full days of racing left, but there was a sense of urgency among drivers in the hunt for a top ten finish as the fourth round of 2WD hit the track - after all, five of the six races from this segment will count toward the overall results. The round started with a surprise winner, saw a steady contender chock up another solid round, and ended in a bare knuckles battle for the final Invitational race of Day One.

Former Open class champion Chad Due got the holeshot from the inside of round one, and held it together for as long as he could, with Ronnefalk, Amezcua, and Cavalieri in tow after one lap. On lap three, Amezcua crashed on the double before the straightaway and Cavalieri got by for third. Ronnefalk passed Due through the center of the track at the 1:30 mark, and Due got him back on the next lap when Ronnefalk spun out after the triple.  With 35 seconds to go, Cavalieri executed a brilliant pass on Ronnefalk at the end of the straightaway and set his sights on Due, while Ronnefalk crashed in the second corner and then again over the triple to let Wernimont by for third. Due held off the charge by Cavalieri to take the win by less than a second.

Barry Baker got the holeshot and led the first lap over Billy Easton and Kody Numedahl, escaping before a big pileup that collected Dustin Evans and knocked him back to ninth. At 1:15, Baker hit the pipe in the turn before the triple and both Easton and Numedahl passed him. Just 30 seconds later, Easton slid sideways through the infield sweeper and Numedahl took advantage. The following lap, Baker crashed on the right side of the track again and dropped back to sixth as Cody King, Ty Tessmann, and Dustin Evans all passed by. King hit the pipe in the first corner on the next lap, giving Tessmann just enough time to pass, and the top six were set for the remainder of the race.

Dakotah Phend started from inside row one and got the holeshot, while Ryan Maifield muscled his way past Brian Kinwald in the second corner. The TLR teammates freight-trained around the track for the next five minutes and raced to the line on the final lap, finishing just 15-hundredths of a second apart as Phend took the win. Behind them, Spencer Rivkin worked up from a disastrous third row start that knocked him back to ninth. He was in seventh by the end of lap two, moved Hohwart and Honigl on lap five to move up to fifth, passed Richards for fourth on lap nine and Joona Haatanen on lap ten to get to third.
