The 2015 Chi-Town Shootout on the indoor track at Leisure Hours R/C Raceway in Joliet, IL, is in the books after a long weekend in which the annual event drew over 300 hundreds from all over the Midwest and as far away as California, with Team Durango's Travis Amezcua flying in from California for the three-day event.

Amezcua was the Top Qualifier in the premier 2WD Modified Buggy class, and took the lead from the start tone. A mistake from second qualifier Cole Tollard on the first full lap promoted Austin Horne to second, and the young rising star from Michigan kept the former National Champion honest for the six-minute single A-Main, finishing less than three seconds behind. Wisconsinite Chad Due battled back from a rough start to claim the final podium position.

The 4WD Modified Buggy class was all about Team Associated's Cole Tollard, who made the trip from Wisconsin to compete. The 14-year-old earned the first spot on the grid with the fastest run in qualifying and pulled away for the win by over six and a half seconds. Second place went to Amezcua, who rocketed to the runner-up spot from fourth on the grid after JR Mitch and Cory Crosley crashed on the first lap.
